Begun in 1991, the Willard L. Metcalf catalogue raisonné is still in preparation. Spanierman Gallery is still interested in locating works by Willard L. The catalogue raisonné, the first to be published on the artist, will be an invaluable definitive and historical reference source, providing complete documentation on all of Metcalf’s oil, pastels and watercolors. The catalogue raisonné is a free service. Its purpose is to provide a major contribution to scholarship on the artist and to add to the body of greater knowledge on American art of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
